Max Hamel
Max Hamel is a Partner at Allied Public Affairs where he provides strategic government affairs, public relations and grassroots services for corporate and non-profit clients.
Prior to joining Allied, Mr. Hamel spent more than seven years at one of the largest government relations firms in Washington where he served as Managing Director of their grassroots public affairs practice. Prior to that, he served as policy and political advisor to Governor Jim Gilmore (R-VA) from 1998-2002. In this role, he assisted in the development of the Governor’s legislative, regulatory and policy agenda in the areas of economic development, trade and technology. Mr. Hamel also served as the Chairman’s staff to the Congressional Advisory Commission on Electronic Commerce.
Mr. Hamel has served in a press, policy or political positions on over a dozen local, state and federal political campaigns in California, Kentucky, Kansas, Virginia, Florida and Puerto Rico.
A native of Virginia, Mr. Hamel is a graduate of the University of Richmond.
Ed Matricardi
Ed Matricardi is the founder of Allied Public Affairs where he has provided national coalition management and multi-state field services for many corporations, trade associations and non-profit organizations — including Bill & Melinda Gates’ ED in ’08-Strong American Schools campaign and T. Boone Pickens’ campaign for energy independence.
Prior to founding Allied Public Affairs in 2008, Mr. Matricardi spent five years with DCI Group where he managed national coalitions and multi-state field campaigns for several Fortune 50 companies – and built a bipartisan field network of state-based political professionals in all 50 states.
Mr. Matricardi has served in a wide variety of legal, governmental and political positions – including practicing law with the firm of Matricardi, Kruck & Moylan; serving as Special Assistant to the Governor of Virginia and two cabinet secretaries (Secretary of Administration & Secretary of the Commonwealth); running day to day operations as Executive Director for two state political parties (Republican Party of Virginia & South Carolina Republican Party); directing a state agency (VA Department of Professional & Occupational Regulation); managing two major 527 organizations during the 2004 presidential campaign; teaching a class at Yale Law School about the modern judicial nomination process; serving as an instructor for political operatives across the country at the RNC’s Campaign Management College; and working in senior positions with more than 85 political campaigns and hundreds of corporate campaigns in almost every state in the nation.
